Foodscapes is a collaborative research project between UWE, the James Hutton Institute, Southampton University, Knowle West Media Centre (KWMC) and the Matthew Tree Project. The project is funded by the AHRC’s Connected Communities programme (running from February to October 2013) and seeks to:

  • examine the role and potential of arts and performance in local / alternative food production initiatives in helping to address some of the most significant challenges facing localities including social and economic exclusion, food poverty, and sustainability;
  • support and enhance interchange between community organisations and research institutions (HEI) through a co-designed action research programme.
